Consultant Psychiatrist at SIMHAR (Shalom Institute of Mental Health and Research). Dr. Prabhas has been working as consultant psychiatrist in SIMHAR for the last 6 years. He also has been working as a consultant psychiatrist at Valluvanad Hospital Complex limited (VHCL), Ottapalam, Palakkad.
Post M.D he worked in Government Medical College Calicut as Senior resident in psychiatry for 10 months. He did his graduation from the prestigious Government Medical College, Trivandrum from July 2010 – June 2013. So he has an aggregate experience of about 3 years and 6 months since his post graduation in psychiatry.
He did his graduation from Government Medical College Calicut from September 2002 – November 2007 and then completed his rotational internship. He worked as a medical officer in palliative care centres as part of compulsory rural service programme under NRHM. During this period, he did a certificate course in palliative medicine from the institute of palliative medicine Calicut.
Dr.Prabhas has always tried to instill hope in the families of patients who are in distress. He has been a team leader and is proud to be the part of thousands of families who had been taking treatment for de-addiction, schizophrenia and mood disorders. He has been active in child guidance. Also, he has always laid special emphasis on stress reduction and relaxation therapies. Most importantly, he has always been very active in trying to remove the stigmata associated with mental illnesses by writing articles, taking classes to general public and to school students, and by involving in panel discussions with eminent figures in public.
