Location: Shalom Institute of Mental Health and Research, Parali, Palakkad
Salary Range: 20,000 - 30,000 per month
Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to join our team, providing spiritual support and counselling for individuals with mental health challenges. This role requires a candidate with strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of Christian perspectives, and the ability to communicate proficiently in English, Hindi, and Malayalam.
Key Responsibilities:
Offer spiritual and emotional support to clients, fostering a safe and comforting environment.
Conduct counselling sessions tailored to individuals with mental health needs.
Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop holistic care plans.
Facilitate faith-based activities, prayer sessions, and other spiritual support as needed.
Provide guidance from a Christian perspective while respecting diverse beliefs and values.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology, or equivalent (BD/B.Th/ M.Th.). Additional qualification in chaplaincy preferred.
2-10 years of experience in chaplaincy, pastoral care, or a related field.
Proficiency in Hindi, English, and Malayalam.
Strong counselling skills with the ability to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Willingness to take on challenges and adapt to the needs of those in a mental health care setting.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
Empathy, patience, and the ability to connect with individuals from varied backgrounds.
Experience working in mental health, rehabilitation, or similar environments is a plus.
A committed Christian faith with a deep understanding of spiritual care.
